NDT Robots
Robotic crawlers and arms that inspect welds, pipes, tanks and structures from the inside and out — finding cracks, corrosion and flaws without cutting anything open, and logging every reading.
Non-destructive testing (NDT) checks the integrity of critical assets without damaging them. The KD-NDT family automates that work: magnetic crawlers climb steel tanks and pipe walls, while precision arms scan welds and surfaces — carrying ultrasonic, eddy-current, radiographic or visual sensors exactly where an inspector would, but with perfect repeatability.
Automation matters here because consistency is everything. A robot follows the same scan path at the same speed every time, so a reading taken this year is directly comparable to one taken next year. That turns inspection from a snapshot into a trend you can track, catching slow corrosion and growing cracks long before they become failures.
Just as important, the robots go where people shouldn't: high structures, confined tanks, hot lines and radiation zones. The inspector stays safe at the console while the robot does the climbing, crawling and scanning, streaming live data and building a permanent, traceable inspection record.
Multi-method sensing
Carry ultrasonic (UT), eddy-current (ECT), radiographic or visual probes — swap the method to the asset and defect type.
Magnetic & track crawling
Magnetic wheels and tracked bases climb vertical and overhead ferrous surfaces — tanks, hulls, pipe walls.
Repeatable scan paths
Programmed motion follows identical paths every inspection, making readings directly comparable over time.
Defect mapping
Software stitches readings into a positional map, so every flaw has coordinates, depth and a timestamp.
Confined & hazardous access
Reach heights, tanks, hot lines and radiation zones so people don't have to enter them.
Traceable records
Every scan is logged with location and settings — audit-ready reports, not loose notes.
| Inspection methods | UT, eddy-current, radiographic, visual |
|---|---|
| Mobility | Magnetic crawler / tracked / arm-mounted |
| Climb capability | Vertical & overhead ferrous surfaces |
| Positioning | Encoder + IMU, mapped to asset model |
| Data output | Geo-tagged scans, C-scan / defect maps |
| Tether/comms | Tethered data + power, live streaming |
| Environment | Designed for hot, confined, elevated zones |
| Reporting | Standardized, audit-traceable exports |
- Weld and pipeline integrity inspection in oil & gas
- Storage tank floor and shell corrosion mapping
- Pressure vessel and boiler in-service inspection
- Ship hull and offshore structure assessment
- Wind-tower and bridge structural monitoring
Configure
Select the inspection method and load the asset's geometry. Define the scan grid or path to be covered.
Deploy
Place the crawler or arm on the asset. It adheres, orients itself and confirms its start position.
Scan
The robot follows the programmed path at constant speed, collecting readings tagged with exact position.
Analyze
Data builds into a defect map. Compare against past inspections to see what changed, and export an audit report.
